Anti-fluoride case stated
Bundaberg NewsMail [Queensland, Australia],
letters-to-the-editor, November 1, 2005, p. 6
Dr Michael Foley (NM 26 Oct.), as President of the Australian Dental
Association (Qld.), promotes the benefits of fluoride in our water, but
ignores the opposing research.
He didn't tell us that 98% of Europe is not fluoridated. Apart from 10%
of the UK and 3% of Spain, virtually every European country has either
ceased or rejected fluoride.
Dr. Hardy Limeback is no dummy in dentistry, as head of Preventive
Dentistry at the University of Toronto, Canada, and was once an ardent
supporter of the benefits of fluoride.
But no more.
He claims the benefits of "mass medicating" the public water supply are
"exaggerated."
He lists the risks of fluoridation as ruined teeth, fragile bones,
acute sensitivities, thyroid problems and an increased risk of cancer.
